These approaches will always be mapped back into an overarching question of “do capacity building interventions improved particiaption in daily activities”
Sometimes, to gain improvements in higher level skills, focus must be placed on the underlying abilities that make the skill possible. This requires that fewer expections or more supports exist to facilitate new learning and practice opportunities.
Rescheduling & cancellations
We understand that life can be hectic sometimes. This is why our booking software will send you an automated text message reminder the day before your session.
If you are unwell or need to reschedule within 24-hours please contact our office on 1300 933 552 rather than replying to the reminder text message.
Reason to reschedule
I am unwell, or my child is unwell (this includes having had the day off school for a cold or tummy ache - not for dental/medical appointments)
My work schedule has changed (24 hours notice, or cancellation fees apply)
A specialist appointment became available last minutes (24-hours notice)
I am going on holidays or family are visiting (48 hours notice)
I need to take a break from therapy for financial reasons (48 hours notice)
The school has planned an excursion (48 hours notice)
Cancellation Policy - A $45 administration fee will apply for reasons listed above, where the occupational therapist hasn’t been provided sufficient notice to reschedule their diary and have prepared for the session. This cancellation fee is payment by invoice within 7-days of the scheduled appointment. Where a home visit or school visit has been confirmed and the OT arrives to a “no show”, full session fees will be payable to cover travel and time taken.
Payment & Fees
Following your appointments our accounts team will process invoices according to the agreed services plan your OT has discussed with you. This invoice will be sent accordingly to you, your plan manager, or funding body for payment within 7-days.
We do not provide bulk billing or HICAPS, which means that Medicare and Private Health claims will need to be processed by the individual. The OTs provider number, service description, and claim detals are included on all receipts.
Online payments are our preferred. We offer direct debt or credit card payment through Stripe, which is a few simple steps using the “green button” on the online invoice.
Additionally, a recurring payment method, GoCardless, can be set up. This automatically processes payments using a credit card 7-days following your session, which allows time for any questions or queries to be raised before processing a payment (including halting payments for rescheduled sessions). This option can be set up from the first invoice - with simple instructions in the email.
Following Initial Appointments
Throughout the initial appointment, your Occupational Therapist will provide you with information and explanations as to what they are seeing/thinking. Within the next week, they may contact you to discuss more questions that assist them to create an individualised therapy plan and/or summary letter. Together, your goals will be written down and the OT will continue to explain how capacity building, supports, and changing in routines/expectations may help improve engagement, participation, independence, and achievement in your goals.
